PYRAMID HILL ART COMPETITION

Changed Forever, Legacies of Conflict.

A Shrine of Remembrance Touring Exhibition.

We are excited to host the Shrine of Remembrance’s traveling exhibition, Changed Forever: Legacies of Conflict from 20 May to 26 June at the Pyramid Hill Memorial Hall. Changed Forever: Legacies of Conflict is touring all around Victoria. We are so lucky to have the entire exhibition here in Pyramid Hill.

Changed Forever: Legacies of Conflict is an exhibition about modern theatres of war, like Rwanda, Afghanistan, Iraq, and East Timor. Places where Australian troops have served and where people have fled. This exhibition focuses on stories of soldiers and refugees, mental health, resettlement, and the resulting changing nature of Australian society. People are forever inspiring, and the stories told in this exhibition give light to that.

There are regular opening times, tours for schools and a program of events to match the exhibition. We are finalising these now and they will be posted on www.pyramidhill.net.au.

Our first event is the preview and opening. Details are below.

We will also be running a private viewing for Veterans and current Service men and women, a Men’s Breakfast and an opening especially for women.

If you are a special interest group and you would like to tour the exhibition outside our regular opening times, please email your details, including your phone number to pyramidhillpress@gmail.com and we can work with you to make a time to open especially for your group.

Come along to Pyramid Hill and have a look at this powerful and beautiful exhibition. Catch the train, bring along your friends, stay for lunch at the Victoria Hotel, Coffee Bank or Bakery Café. You might like to also have a walk around the Hill or up Mt Hope before heading home.

Pyramid Hill was very lucky to have astronomers Patricia & Jim donate their time and expertise on Friday night 23rd February at the Northern Vic Quarter Horse Club (NVQHA) Arena.  We were able to view the craters on the moon and the many stars and star clouds, and also witnessed the International Space Station passing through.

Supper was provided at a small cost and put on by the volunteers of the NVQHA.
